Workshop Availability, The Year Ahead
Places repeat, light changes, availability disappears
Every year follows a rhythm.
Places repeat, light changes, energy shifts, and availability tightens in unexpected ways.
The locations may look familiar, but how and when I work within them changes constantly. Some periods are open, some are limited, some are already gone. If you are reading this and thinking “maybe”, it is probably the right time to look.
This page is a live overview of upcoming workshop availability, with a focus on Venice and the key seasonal windows where the city becomes something else entirely.
Venice, Carnival Season
Late January to mid February
I will be in Venice from 20 January, with workshops running through the Carnival period, from 7 February to 17 February.
Carnival is intense, visually rich, and demanding. It is also one of the most photographed events in the world, which is exactly why availability during this period is limited. If you are looking for something thoughtful rather than frantic, quieter windows do exist, but they disappear quickly.
This is not a time for rushing. It rewards patience, timing, and a willingness to wait for moments rather than chase them.
Budapest, Spring Light
19 to 26 April
I will be in Budapest for a short spring window. Availability is limited and focused on one-to-one sessions, built around walking, observation, and shaping a coherent set of images rather than collecting random scenes.
Budapest in April is subtle. Softer light, less noise, fewer distractions. It is a city that rewards slow attention and long walks, especially along the river and in older neighbourhoods where layers of history sit quietly on top of each other.
If Venice is theatre, Budapest is mood. You do not chase moments here, you recognise them.
Venice, Late Spring
1 to 24 May
Back in Venice, again with limited availability for one-to-one sessions.
This is one of my favourite periods to work. The city has energy, but not yet the weight of summer. Mornings are generous, evenings stretch beautifully, and there is room to shoot without constantly negotiating crowds.
If you have ever felt Venice was overwhelming, this is often the moment it changes your mind. The light is kinder, the pace is calmer, and the city starts to feel human again.
Summer, Fully Spoken For
June, July, August
Summer has gone to the mountains.
Slovenia and Lake Bled
Isle of Skye and Harris
Julian Alps
Dolomites
My small group workshops are all sold out.
Long days, changing weather, dramatic landscapes, and a very different way of working. These trips are intense, immersive, and deliberately small, which is why they fill early and stay full.
Venice, Autumn and Winter
20 September to mid October, and 15 to 31 December
Venice returns again, quieter, more reflective.
Autumn brings lower light and longer shadows. December strips the city back to essentials. These periods suit photographers who enjoy atmosphere, restraint, and the feeling of a city exhaling.
They are also ideal if you prefer working without spectacle.
Coming Soon
I will be launching two small group workshops for the coming Autumn.
One in Transylvania
One in Prague and Bohemia
Details will follow soon. Both locations deserve time, depth, and curiosity rather than box ticking. These will not be rushed experiences.
Longer Projects and Custom Work
If you are considering two days or more in Venice, Budapest, Prague, or Slovenia, feel free to reach out. I cannot promise availability, but I can promise honesty.
For shorter workshops, it is often not financially sensible for me to travel specifically for them. That said, there are moments when timing aligns and I am already in the right place. It happens more often than you might think, which is why this page exists.
If there is a way to make it work, I will try.
Calendars are fixed things, but occasionally they bend. If you have a last-minute request, it is always worth getting in touch.
If you have dates in mind, send them over, I’ll tell you what’s realistic.
