Venice is one of the most photographed cities in the world, but 90% of those photos come from the same few angles.

Rialto. San Marco. Gondolas mid-canal.

Beautiful? Sure. But the city offers so much more—if you know where to look, and more importantly, when.

This is the first in a series where I’ll share the locations I return to again and again—both when I’m shooting for myself and when I’m teaching workshops.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll cover many more places in Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, and beyond.

These places aren’t secret. But they’re often missed.
